The ship plunges into chaos as it ’tilts 45 degrees’ in the Atlantic Ocean. Shocking video goes viral…

Unexpected weather off Africa’s coast caused a massive Royal Caribbean cruise liner to ’tilt 45 degrees’, leaving people clinging to their balance and one person injured. Cruise ships are enormous boats that transport thousands of passengers across the world on unforgettable vacations. Cruise ships transport guests to opulent locales within days of each other, a phenomenon often referred to as “getting the ‘bug’ after your first cruise and making it your holiday.”
However, like with every vacation, things can go wrong on board, as happened last week aboard Royal Caribbean’s Explorer of the Seas. Explorer, one of the cruise line’s premium experiences, features a skating rink, a mini-golf course, water slides, and a rock climbing wall. While cruising from Europe to Florida, USA, the massive ship carrying over 5,000 staff and guests was rocked, with beverages flying off tables and businesses looking as if they had been ravaged by rioters. The Explorer of the Seas, traveling from Barcelona to Miami, experienced a sudden gust of wind near Tenerife, a Canary Island off the West African coast. The gust was quite strong, causing significant damage to many parts of the ship, including the major shopping zone in the ship’s core, which, considering its central location, should have suffered less damage than the edges.
A passenger on the yacht told CBS News that winds increased from 46 mph to 86 mph. There were broken bottles on the floor behind the bar, and piles of clothes racks littered the stores. Given how much the Royal Caribbean cruise ship slanted, passengers were compelled to hold onto everything to stay balanced, and advertising boards were tossed across pathways and onto people.
Jonathan Parrish, who was a passenger, told CBS: “I think there was about five minutes in there where everybody was wondering what was going on, but as soon as the captain came on and announced what had happened, it kind of gave you a sense of calmness.” Parrish claimed he felt the cruise liner make a “hard right turn,” followed by a “more severe” turn. The incident reportedly injured one passenger, prompting Explorer to travel to Las Palmas in the Canary Islands for medical attention.
A Royal Caribbean representative stated, “During an unexpected wind gust near Tenerife, Spain, one of our sailings experienced sudden movement.”The ship will dock at Las Palmas, Spain, for a medical disembarkation after one of our passengers sustained injuries and required further medical attention. “We are communicating these changes directly with our guests.” The Explorer of the Seas will arrive in Miami in two weeks after the diversion to Las Palmas.
