Our condolences to Kristin Davis, who announces heartbreaking news…

Kristin Davis is honoring her late father, Tom Atkinson.
The 59-year-old Sex and the City actress revealed on Instagram on Monday, November 18, that her father passed away “recently” following a Parkinson’s disease diagnosis. She posted the news of his death on social media after the family had a chance to gather and honor his life.
“My dad passed away recently, and the family gathered for the celebration of his life that he had left detailed instructions for,” Davis wrote, describing the “beautiful celebration” that featured a jazz band.
“We all learned new things about him because he led an extraordinary life,” she said of her father, who was “born in a cabin on a river” in North Carolina.
Atkinson’s zeal for his job, according to Davis, drove him to “give speeches all over the world about his research in psychology.”
“He was born to be a teacher and enjoyed it so much. “He was brilliant and bright, and people adored him,” the actress said before giving details about his health.
“For the last decade, he lived with Parkinson’s,” she said of the condition, which is “a brain disorder that causes unintended or uncontrollable movements, such as shaking, stiffness, and difficulty with balance and coordination,” and usually worsens with time. According to the National Institute on Aging, this results in difficulties walking and communicating.
The Cash Out actress praised her mother’s “devotion” to her father after his diagnosis, and she thanked “his doctors, nurses, and home healthcare” for their support.
“I’m so grateful for the support he got and the perseverance he showed in a very real and difficult struggle,” Davis went on.
She proceeded with her tweet, expressing her thoughts for our entire family, particularly my mother. “We love you, Dad, and are grateful you lit up our lives and left us with so much.”
Many people in the comment section expressed their sympathies, including Jerry O’Connell, who commented, “So sorry, Kristin. He must have been quite proud of his newborn child.” Rest in Peace, King!”
