Rob McElhenney honors Danny Devito’s 80th birthday with a heartfelt tribute to co-star

Rob McElhenney sent Danny Devito a beautiful greeting on his 80th birthday.
The two co-star in the iconic US comedy It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Devito has been portraying Frank Reynolds since the second season of the 16-season drama, with two more seasons likely to come.
Of course, given his mythical status, birthday wishes poured in for the 80-year-old on Sunday (17 November) from a variety of Hollywood stars and well-known figures.
McElhenney’s was also incredibly beautiful, despite the initial fear some felt upon seeing it. One person commented, “You can’t just post a picture like this man; I had a heart attack,” in the comments section.
The actor shared a single photo of Devito on Instagram with the caption, “This man was born 80 years ago today.” He could still drink from beneath the table. He can still make you laugh more than anyone you’ve ever met.
“He could still make you feel like the only one in the room. He could still offer you the greatest advice you’ve ever received and make you feel loved despite everything.
“He is an American gem. There is just one, @dannydevito. “Happy birthday!!!”
The initially alarmed users swiftly reacted, saying, “Rob scared me last year, so I made a mental note that Danny’s birthday is in November, and he still got me this year.”
Others added to the celebration by sharing their favorite Frank Reynolds and Devito quips and memes.
“National Treasure!” Others agreed, referring to the performer as a ‘hero’.
Kaitlin Olson, who portrays Dee Reynolds on Always Sunny, also sent a birthday message: “Happy birthday to my favorite (rum) ham. Danny DeVito is everything you’d want him to be. He brightens every space, ensures everyone’s well-being, and gives his all to everything and everyone he cares about. Here’s to 80 more. I wouldn’t underestimate his abilities.
Mary Elizabeth Ellis also said, “Happy birthday to one of the most giving, fun-loving, humorous, kind, intelligent, and gorgeous persons I know.
“I am thankful to have known and loved you (and your amazing family) for 20 years! You have enhanced my life in innumerable ways. Gratitude may not cover everything, but it is an excellent place to start. Happy birthday, Danny! #dannydevito “I really love you.”
