Ellen DeGeneres has chosen the United Kingdom over the United States.

DeGeneres and her actress wife Portia de Rossi, well known for her roles in Arrested Development and Better Off Ted, had long lived in Montecito, California, but are rumored to have left the West Coast’s milder temperature for England.

Specifically, the  celebrity pair has relocated to the Cotswolds, joining David and Victoria Beckham, Hugh Grant, and Kate Moss.

The reason DeGeneres and de Rossi (who have been married for 16 years) moved roughly 5,000 miles away from California is claimed to be due to recent election results.

They anticipate listing their Montecito house for sale shortly after their relocation.

An unidentified source informed The Wrap that DeGeneres and de Rossi would ‘never’ return to the States.

Some media speculated that Trump’s victory motivated the move, but TMZ reported that de Rossi and DeGeneres had already purchased their Cotswolds house before the election.

After Trump’s win, they wanted to ‘get the heck out’ of America.

As you might expect, DeGeneres did not vote for President-elect Donald Trump.

Endorsing Kamala Harris during the summer, the former talk show host said on Instagram: “There’s nothing more powerful than a woman whose time has come!! I can’t wait for @KamalaHarris to become our future president.”

UNILAD has contacted DeGeneres’ representatives for comment on the claims surrounding her latest transfer.

Besides DeGeneres and de Rossi, others have left the US. Eva Longoria, a Desperate Housewives fave, has also moved out.
She described the country as ‘dystopian’.

She confirmed that she had been living in Europe for three years, despite the assumption that she had fled the country because of Trump.

Longoria responded to the rumor on The View: Behind the Table podcast, saying, “Will you please let them know I didn’t move out of the United States because of Trump?”

The actress said, “I’ve been in Europe for almost three years.”
Longoria went on to claim that ‘work told her to travel there’, which corresponds to her new Apple TV+ series, Land of Women, which premiered in July.

The drama takes place in Spain and centers on a woman who, along with her mother and daughter, flees New York and relocates to a European country.
