Sometimes you come across a kind gesture that truly moves your heart.

You get what I mean, right? It might be a tale of someone going out of their way to help others or simply doing something good without expecting anything in return.

Doing beneficial actions frequently gives you a pleasant feeling inside, and it’s wonderful to see individuals who genuinely want to make the world a better place.

Shane McDaniel and his twin kids, Henry and Harrison, are excellent instances of this. Shane spent a lot of time as a youngster gathering firewood with his father, and now he wants his 21-year-old boys to join him in carrying on the practice.

The family resides near Lake Stevens, Washington, and had a lot of work to do after a major storm.

Shane stated, “I had a lot of wood to cut due to storm damage and fallen trees.” It kept stacking up. When it became too much, we decided we could do better with it.”

They collaborated and devised a strategy that would not only clear the forest but also benefit many people in the process.

McDaniel told PEOPLE Magazine, “The Pacific Northwest is a really challenging location; it’s freezing and wet. Once I began, I realized the extent of the assistance required—a realization that profoundly impacted me.  Many people came to buy it, so we decided to start giving it away.

Overall, the effort ran from March to October 2018, and Shane, Henry, and Harrison cut enough firewood to fill 80 trucks.

Shane resorted to Facebook to appeal for help with his collection. They had a surplus of firewood and were unsure how to utilize it.

Shane’s article undoubtedly drew a lot of attention. Other people were amazed by the family’s generosity and offered to help carry the firewood to those who couldn’t.

It feels fantastic.

“It’s incredibly wonderful to watch. You can tell they have a new feeling of pride and sharing that they did not have before,” Shane said.

“When you do something beneficial for someone, people remember it.”
